Voter Information
and Engagement Website
VIEW

In an era where misinformation and voter disengagement are growing concerns, providing accurate and accessible voter information is essential.

This was the challenge we took on during Hacktivism event by Politechs.
Our goal: create an innovative platform to empower voters with reliable knowledge for confident participation in elections.
Over two weeks, our team worked across time zones to develop VIEW—a centralized, unbiased resource for voters.
49%
Highest US Midterms voter turnout since 1914.
31.8%
Lowest national voter turnout in EU.
The Challenge
Voters face significant barriers in accessing trustworthy election information. With scattered and often biased sources, many people struggle to make informed decisions.
VIEW set out to address this by creating a user-friendly platform that engages voters, offering them clear, localized, and relevant information.

The Tools

Discovery:
Understanding the Voter
Our research showed that 89% of respondents felt overwhelmed by available election information, yet still lacked the detailed insights they needed.

We realized that to make an impact, our platform had to be comprehensive, easy to navigate, and tailored to different voter needs.

-
To better empathize with our users, we created personas representing first-time voters, disengaged voters, and informed voters, guiding our design decisions throughout the process.
-
Working across three time zones posed challenges, but it also led us to adopt asynchronous workflows. Tools like Slack, Miro, and Figma became crucial for effective collaboration, allowing us to stay connected and aligned.

Defining the Solution:
Focusing on Impact
With research insights in hand,
we moved to refine our solution.
Gathering research findings from user feedback and market analysis, we identified the most relevant insights to determine
our product vision and principles.
We focused on features that would have the most impact for users.
SWOT Analysis
-
Revisiting our SWOT analysis, we highlighted what would make VIEW stand out.
Business Model Canvas
-
We developed our Business Model Canvas in a workshop to hone in on what would make our platform appealing, sustainable and stand out.
Prioritised Features
-
Given the overwhelming amount of information voters needed, we prioritized key features and streamlined the platform’s structure with a sitemap and content map.
AI-powered Search Feature
-
A major innovation was integrating an AI-powered search feature, allowing users to quickly find relevant information personalized to their location and preferences.
User Stories, Epics and Roadmap
-
We then mapped out user stories and epics to guide our development roadmap.

Developing VIEW:
Bringing the Vision to Life
In the development phase, we translated our ideas into practical solutions.
Using Figma, we crafted diagrams, wireframes, and storyboards that illustrated the user journey, ensuring intuitive, engaging interactions across desktop and mobile.
-
Collaboration remained key, with team members working on separate but interconnected parts within the same Figma files.

-
The wireframes demonstrated how users would seamlessly navigate the platform, regardless of device, making sure accessibility was built into every step.
